Yonah Mountain 9/26 to 9/28/14

Short weekend at Yonah Mountain in Cleveland, GA (just south of Helen).  I think I love it here so much because it has activities for the kids, a Clubhouse (for watching football!), a pool and hayrides this time of year yet it's a quite campground that's not to big or overcrowded.  I wish we had another day....or two!
I like this pic because Jazzy looks like she's sticking her tongue out at everyone else!  LOL

Dawson & I got up early to photograph the sunrise before heading to Smithgall Woods but it was overcast.  This is at Unicoi State Park.  Sunshine or not, it's beautiful.
Then went to Smithgall Woods as volunteers to shoot "Your State Parks Day" (you get into GA State Parks free this day and they use volunteers to do work around the parks) and these are a couple of good nature shots we got.  He is becoming quite the photographer!  We added up what we did between the walking around photographing and the hiking we did afterward and we walked about 8 miles!  WHEW we were tired but I sure did enjoy all that time with my boy!
Meanwhile, Wes took Belle horseback riding and her stupid horse tripped and fell to the ground throwing her off, over it's head.  There aren't any pictures of that :/  Poor girl.  He did make her get back on the horse.

Just to prove I do go camping, since I'm rarely in the pics!
Dawson enjoyed a giant burger at Troll Tavern in Helen!  He ate the whole thing ;)

If you've never played this, you should!  It's a workout!!!  Dawson kept winning :)~

Jazzy playing on the playground!  CrAzY dog!
Correction:  Wes did have a pic of Belle on the stupid horse (he said his name is something Indian for Dumb Ass).  No pic of her falling off!

Happy Holiday RV Village 8-29 to 9-1-14

This is in Cherokee, NC, very close to Harrah's.  The weather was nice, not to hot.
There were a LOT of campers.  I think their capacity is 300 & they must have been at it or very close.  After all, it's Labor Day weekend, the kick-off to fall camping season!

A view of the mountains, which were all around us.  Beautiful!

Dawson actually got on top of PawPaw's camper to take pics.  Here is a selfie to show all the campers in the background....crazy boy!

Yep, he talked Nanna into getting up there with him!

My (BIG) baby :)

Camping on the first weekend of Georgia football?  YES
Miss the game?
NO!!!!

GO DAWGS!

Victoria Bryant State Park 8-8 to 8-10-14

This is such a beautiful area at Victoria Bryant.  Right in front (bottom of pic) is the road.  Yes, you drive through the water!  It's a lot of fun to play here & hiking trails are behind us.  There is also a pond for fishing and a pool.  I do recommend honey from Bluebird if they are they....NOM NOM!

We were at sight 11 and our friends (in a Pop-Up were on 12) and these sites were great for us.  They are in a circular area with activities for the kids in the center.

It's the first time Wes did a Low Country Boil & it was YUMMY!  To much food but it was all delicious and he mastered it the first try!

This is one of my favorite pics of the weekend....look at the look on Hannah's face.  She thinks he's awesome!

I love finding interesting mushrooms!

Hard Labor Creek 7-11 to 7-13-14

Here it is, all set up for the first time!  We enjoyed our stay at Hard Labor Creek.  It's a wooded campground with plenty of space between sites.

We like this site (#43).  We were in the woods but the kids had an area to play behind it.

Above is a huge tree we found during a hike and here are all the kids hanging around on a tree!

Dawson has a knack for finding squirrels and feeding them when we're camping.  This one took a little while to get close but he kept offering peanuts until he got very close.....close enough to bite him on the finger!!!
